Scientific Conference Date

Our 2nd Annual Scientific Conference has been just as successful as the first one. This great accomplishment was a product of the organizational role of the Planning Committee members, excellent skills and teamwork from collaborating staff, the economic incentives from our sponsors, and principally, the high participation of the scientific community in general. Without the capable judges that had such a difficult task of evaluating these exceptional research project presentations, the awarding of the prizes would have been even more difficult, if not impossible.

Faculty, students, and residents of our School and affiliated institutions participated presenting a total of 67 research abstracts, 11 more than that of last year. These were divided as oral and poster presentations and later evaluated in the four main categories: Clinical, Basic, and Behavioral, and Public Health. Each category was awarded three prizes.

This year, we had the participation of Rafael Ruiz Quijano, M.D., as Key Note Lecturer of our Central Conference, who offered the topic, “Bioethics: Compass of the Professional Behavior in the Medicine of Our Times”.

Through this annual activity our students and faculty present their scientific productions to the general community allowing for the interaction of participants in the different institutional programs.
